Ibrahimovic makes an impact for a great start for Milan

Ibrahimovic opened the score with a head for 1:0

In the 35th minute, and in the 51st he scored from a penalty awarded for a foul against Ismail Benaser. Stefano Pioli’s team sent the previous season in incredible shape and gave reasons for optimism to their fans, which was confirmed with its performance tonight.

Bologna played timidly until the break and looked bolder at the door of Gianluigi Donaruma only at the end. Sinisa Mihajlovic faced the team he led in the period 2015-2016, and was ambitious to start with a positive result of “Giuseppe Meazza”, but his team disappointed.

The previous match between the two teams in Milan ended with a crushing success of the hosts with 5: 1. Today, the “red and blacks” were not so convincing, but left a good impression with their game.

There were as many as 1,000 spectators in the stands at this stage. They were mainly close to the Lombardy footballers and medics invited by Milan in gratitude for their dedication to the battle with COVID-19.

The first dangerous shot on one of the doors was on Soriano after a mistake by Benaser, but the ball went wide of the door. Ibrahimovic failed to give an advance to the “Rossoneri” after receiving a pass from Chalhanoolu and masterfully eliminated the opponent’s defender, but shot inaccurately.

Gradually, Milan settled in half of the guests. Rebic and Chalhanoolu were active, and Bologna did not mind returning to the penalty area and looking for episodic but dangerous counterattacks. In the 28th minute Kessie shot very inaccurately, and seconds later Benaser missed a goal, although his shot was significantly closer to the goal than Kessie.

The logical thing happened in the 35th minute. Theo Hernandez got enough time and space to center and he found Ibrahimovic perfectly. The Swede jumped over a defender in white and sent the ball into the net with his head.Milan continued to press the opponent, but after the goal there was a certain revival in the ranks of Bologna. However, the guests never once before the break made Donaruma intervene decisively.

At the beginning of the second half, Alexis Salemakers took the place of Castillejo in the game for Milan and the Belgian contributed to the sharpness in the attacks of the hosts. In the 47th minute Ibrahimovic could have doubled, but Lukasz Skorupski showed a good reflex. In the 50th Benaser was knocked down in the penalty area and after consultation with the VAR referee Federico La Pena awarded a penalty by Ibra

There was a slight relaxation in the ranks of the “Rossoneri”, and Zlatan squandered one hundred percent opportunity to form a hat trick. The veteran received a pass from Salemakers, bypassed Skorupski, but lost his balance and shot over the door. The Polish guard was on level ground and a quarter of an hour before the end he deflected a powerful shot by Theo Hernandez.

In the final part of the match Bologna could return the intrigue. The guests organized several good attacks, but Donaruma also showed class. He refused Shauthen and Sansone in succession, and in the 88th minute Mitchell Dix received a red card from the guests.

It is a curious fact that Ibrahimovic scored more than one goal in the first round of Serie A for the first time. The Swede looks in great shape and will again be Milan’s main weapon.

The next match of the “Rossoneri” will be a visit of the newcomer Crotone, and Bologna will host Parma.
