After the triumph in Turkish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton won his seventh Formula One world title. The Briton achieved the unthinkable until a few years ago and equaled the record of sports legend Michael Schumacher.
Lewis did not easily reach today’s victory on the Istanbul Park track, as he did not start well from the sixth position, had problems with tire performance, and stayed 20 laps behind Sebastian Vettel.
Three rounds before the end of the championship, Lewis is unreachable at the top of the standings with 307 points, 110 ahead of second-placed Valteri Botas.
In the final part of the race, however, Lewis showed why he is a great champion, and without needing a victory, he lifted his seventh title with a triumph in Istanbul. Sergio Perez, in one of his last races for the Racing Point team, fought for a wonderful second position.
In the drivers’ standings, Hamilton leads with 307 points, ahead of Botas with 197 and Verstappen with 170. Sergio Perez is fourth with 100 points. In terms of constructors, the champions from Mercedes are leaders with 504 points, ahead of Red Bull with 240 and Racing Point with 154.
